TIER II NOTICE OF FILING
A Tier II application for a renewal of an existing OPDES permit (OK0043273) to operate an industrial wastewater treatment system has been filed with the Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) by Muskogee Sand Co., Inc., P.O. Box 927 Pryor, Oklahoma.
The applicant requests renewal of permit OK0043273 to treat industrial wastewater by impoundment(s), at their facility, located in the W/2 Sec 4 and the E/2 of Sec. 5, both in T15N, R18EIM, in Wagoner County, Oklahoma, or the north bank of the intersection of the Highway 69 bridge and the Arkansas River just north of Muskogee. The Class III wastewater to be treated will consist of returning river water from a sand dredging operation. The permit, if issued, would establish guidelines for the operation of the industrial wastewater treatment system.
The discharge, which will consist of returning river water following sand dredging and classifying, will be to the Arkansas River, in the W/2 Sec 4 and the E/2 of Sec. 5, both in T15N, R18EIM, in Wagoner County, Oklahoma, or along the north bank of the intersection of the Highway 69 bridge and the Arkansas River just north of Muskogee. The permit, if modified, would establish effluent limitations on the discharge.
The application may be reviewed at the Wagoner County Courthouse, 307 E Cherokee St Wagoner, OK.
After reviewing the application the DEQ will prepare either a draft permit or draft denial. At that time, notice of the prepared draft will be made by the Department and the public will be given the opportunity to review it, submit written comments, or request a public meeting within thirty days.
